Itinerary Breakdown

Seven Days in the Sacred Mountains

Drive from Ulgii to Tavan Bogd National Park (4-5 hours). Marvel at changing landscapes from steppe to alpine wilderness. Set up base camp near glacial streams. Acclimatization walk and welcome dinner under the stars.
Full day trek to Mongolia's largest glacier. Cross alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers. Witness the massive ice formations and glacial lakes. Photography opportunities with the Five Sacred Peaks backdrop. Return to base camp.
Early morning summit attempt of Malchin Peak (4,050m). Challenging but rewarding climb with panoramic views of all five peaks. Spot ibex and golden eagles. Celebrate at the summit before descending for lunch and rest.
Journey on horseback through lush valleys to crystal-clear Khoton Lake. Ride alongside experienced nomadic herders. Set up camp by the lakeshore. Evening fishing and campfire stories with traditional Mongolian songs.
Experience traditional Bactrian camel riding across the steppe. Visit a Tuvan nomadic family to learn about their seasonal migrations. Help with herding, milking, and preparing traditional dairy products. Overnight in family ger.
Morning wildlife watching for argali sheep, marmots, and birds of prey. Hike to ancient petroglyph sites dating back thousands of years. Learn about the region's rich cultural and natural history. Return to main camp for farewell dinner.
Morning sunrise over the peaks one last time. Drive back to Ulgii with stops at scenic viewpoints. Lunch in Ulgii before airport transfer. Depart with memories of Mongolia's most spectacular wilderness.
