A Journey to the Eagle Festival

Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii. Meet your BREATHE ALTAI team and transfer to your ger camp. In the evening, attend the festival opening ceremony where eagle hunters gather from across the region. Welcome dinner featuring traditional Kazakh cuisine.
Witness the spectacular main competition where eagle hunters release their birds from mountainsides to catch prey or return to their handlers on horseback. Photography opportunities abound as hunters display their traditional costumes and golden eagles.
Visit local eagle hunter families to learn about eagle training and care. Participate in traditional Kazakh crafts workshops including felt making and embroidery. Experience the preparation of traditional foods like beshbarmak.
Continue enjoying the festival with horseback archery demonstrations, traditional Kazakh games like kokpar (goat polo), and eagle calling competitions. Evening cultural performances featuring traditional music and dance.
Join experienced eagle hunters on a horseback expedition through the Altai mountains. Watch eagles in action and learn horsemanship skills. Picnic lunch in the stunning wilderness with panoramic mountain views.
